Microwave Convection Cooking

Here is a delicious recipe for apple crisp that cooks perfectly with the combination setting. There is a super simple and very good recipe in “Easy Microwave-Convection Cooking“, but you may also enjoy the slightly saucy apples in this combination.

YUMMY APPLE CRISP

Topping:
1/2 cup flour
1/2 cup rolled oats
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
4 tablespoons butter

Filling:
6 cups peeled and sliced cooking apples
1 tablespoon flour
3 tablespoons milk
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
1/4 cup brown sugar

1. Combine all Topping ingredients in microwave-safe bowl. MICROWAVE (100%) 45 to 60 seconds or until butter is softened. Stir with fork until crumbly; set aside.

2. Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Combine all filling ingredients in 10.5-inch deep round silicone baking dish or 9-inch square silicone baking dish. Mix lightly. Sprinkle with Topping.

3. COMBO-BAKE with 10% microwave and 375 degrees (Low-Mix) for 20 to 25 minutes or until apples are tender. Serve warm plain or with ice cream.

TIPS

>With the square baking dish, it may be necessary in some oven to turn off the turntable and rotate the dish once after about 15 minutes.

>If your oven only has one combination, cook with this setting (usually Roast) for about 15 minutes. If additional browning is necessary, continue with convection on 375 degrees for about 10 minutes.

>To reheat and maintain the crisp topping, use the combination setting for about 10 minutes.
