Penne With Shrimp & Asparagus

Use the microwave pasta cooker to quickly cook the pasta or cook the traditional way. Then, mix with ready prepared seafood and sauce for an easy casserole. A spring-like combination for a cold winter day.

2 cups uncooked penne pasta (about 8 oz.)
2 cups broken fresh asparagus
2 green onions, sliced
1 clove garlic, minced
6 oz. frozen cooked shrimp, (thaw under cold water)
1/2 cup canned or refrigerated Alfredo sauce
1/4 teaspoon salt
Freshly ground pepper

1. Cook pasta as directed in pasta cooker or as on package. Drain and set aside.

2. Meanwhile combine asparagus, onions and garlic in 1 1/2-quart microwave-safe casserole. Cover tightly.

3. MICROWAVE (100%) 3 to 4 minutes or until asparagus is crisp-tender. Add shrimp, sauce, salt, pepper and cooked pasta; mix lightly and cover.

3. MICROWAVE (100%) 3 to 4 minutes or until heated through, stirring once.

About 4 Servings

TIPS

> Store any leftover Alfredo sauce in the freezer. Add a little milk and heat to use on other pasta or vegetable dishes.
> Favorite soup can be substituted for Alfredo sauce. Add 2 tablespoons milk to achieve sauce consistency.
